I am a freelance writer who holds a PhD in History from Northwestern University. I have several years of teaching experience and tried various types of freelance writing before settling into my passion for writing about family history.

I lived in three states and spent almost a year in Europe before settling down in the southeast with my husband and children. Outside of history and writing, my loves include novels, easy hikes, Italian food, and chocolate.
